IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans and Dindigul Dragons met in the Qualifier 2 match of the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2024 on Friday, August 2. MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chepauk hosted the clash.
Dindigul Dragons won the toss and elected to field first. P Vignesh took a three-wicket haul. Moreover, backed by two wickets each from Suboth Bhati and Varun Chakravarthy, they bowled out IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans to 108 in 19.4 overs.
Maan Bafna top-scored 26 while S Ganesh, Amit Sathvik, and Ramalingam Rohit added 17,16, and 14 runs each. The rest of the batters were dismissed in single digits.
In reply, Dindigul Dragons comfortably chased down the target in 10.5 overs. Captain Ravichandran Ashwin opened and delivered a match-winning knock of 69 runs while his partner Vimal Khumar contributed 28 runs. P Bhuvaneswaran took the solitary wicket of Khumar for the Tamizhans.
