TNPL 2024: How did the IPL players fare in IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans vs Salem Spartans, Match 20? ft. R Sai Kishore & T Natarajan
IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans and Salem Spartans squared off in the 20th match of the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2024 on Sunday, July 21. The match took place at the Indian Cement Company Ground in Tirunelveli.
IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans opted to bat first and smashed an excellent 193-run target for nine wickets. Amit Sathvik and Tushar Raheja stitched an opening partnership of 110 runs. Sathvik scored an excellent fifty off 39 balls, featuring six fours and one six while Raheja smashed an excellent 79-run knock from 49 deliveries.
Additionally, Balchander Anirudh scored 17 runs and captain Sai Kishore added 12 runs while the rest were dismissed in single digits. Guru Sayee and M Poiyamozhi both chipped in with a three-wicket haul for Salem Spartans. Meanwhile, N Selva Kumaran took two wickets and Rajendran Vivek picked up one.
In the second innings, Salem Spartans lost five wickets for 22 inside the powerplay. However, Vishal Vaidhya who batted at No. 3 stood strong and scored 35 runs off 27 balls, comprising five fours. Later, the wicket-keeper batter Ravi Rajan smashed an unbeaten 39-ball 53-run knock with four fours and two sixes. Harish Kumar then added 32 runs in the lower order.
However, the Spartans struggled and fell short by 51 runs. Mohamed claimed a three-wicket haul for the Tamizhans while T Natarajan and Ajith Ram picked up two wickets each and P Bhuvaneswaran took one.

T Natarajan, who represents Sunrisers Hyderabad, had a good day with the ball. He conceded 30 runs and picked up two wickets at an economy of 7.50.
