TNPL 2024: How did the IPL players fare in Lyca Kovai Kings vs Dindigul Dragons, Final? ft. Ravichandran Ashwin & Baba Indrajith
Lyca Kovai Kings and Dindigul Dragons faced off in the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2024 final at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai on Sunday, August 4.
Lyca Kovai Kings batted first and reached 129/7 in 20 overs. Ram Arvindh (27), Atheeq Ur Rahman (25), and S Sujay (22) were among the major run-getters. Sandeep Warrier, Varun Chakravarthy, and P Vignesh chipped in with two wickets each for the Dragons.
In reply, the Dindigul Dragons achieved the target in 18.2 overs with six wickets in hand, thanks to Ravichandran Ashwin’s match-winning half-century backed by Baba Indrajith’s 32 and Sarath Kumar’s 15-ball 27-run knock.

Shivam Singh (Dindigul Dragons)
Shivam Singh, who had been a part of the PBKS squad in IPL 2024, scored four runs off three deliveries in the final. His knock featured just one boundary.
Sandeep Warrier (Dindigul Dragons)
Sandeep Warrier, the Gujarat Titans pacer, who played as an impact sub in the last game, bowled four overs for 26 runs. He also picked up two wickets with 11 dot balls.
Baba Indrajith (Dindigul Dragons)
Baba Indrajith, the KKR opening batter, scored 32 runs off 35 balls. His innings included three fours.
Varun Chakravarthy (Dindigul Dragons)
Varun Chakravarthy, another KKR mystery spinner, bowled a decent spell in the final. He conceded 26 runs in four overs and secured two wickets for the Dindigul Dragons.
Ravichandran Ashwin (Dindigul Dragons)
Ravichandran Ashwin bowled the most economical spell in the final, conceding 13 runs in four overs with 12 dot balls. He also scored a match-winning knock of 52 runs off 46 balls, comprising one four and three sixes.
M Shahrukh Khan (Lyca Kovai Kings)
M Shahrukh Khan, the Gujarat Titans all-rounder, failed to perform with the bat, scoring three runs off seven balls. However, he managed to pick up a wicket in two overs for 23 runs.
Sai Sudharshan (Lyca Kovai Kings)
Sai Sudharshan, another GT opener, also had a rough day with the bat. He batted at no.3 and scored 14-run-a-ball.
Manimaran Siddharth (Lyca Kovai Kings)
M Siddharth, the LSG spinner, was the most economical bowler from the Lyca Kovai Kings. He took a wicket for 14 runs in his four-over quota, including 13 dot balls.
