TNPL 2024: How did the IPL players fare in Nellai Royal Kings vs Dindigul Dragons, Match 28? ft. Varun Chakravarthy & Ravichandran Ashwin

On Sunday, July 28, Dindigul Dragons and Nellai Royal Kings met in the 28th match of the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2024 at the NPR College Ground in Dindigul.

Dindigul Dragons batted first and were bowled out for 136 runs in 19.4 overs. Opening batter Shivam Singh was the highest run-getter with 70 runs off 59 balls, including four fours and five sixes. Ravichandran Ashwin (15) was the only other batter to reach double digits.

Sonu Yadav took two wickets while N Kabilan, NS Harish, R Silambarasan, and J Rohan picked up one each.

In reply, Arun Karthik scored a 30-ball 45 and gave a strong start to Nellai Royal Kings alongside skipper Guruswamy Ajitesh’s 43* off 39. Later, Sonu Yadav’s quick-fire eight-ball 15 and NS Harish’s 22 off 15 helped them achieve the target in 17.5 overs for the loss of six wickets.

Shivam Singh (Dindigul Dragons)

Shivam Singh, who represents the Punjab Kings in the IPL, plays for Dindigul Dragons in TNPL 2024. He had a great day with the bat being the top-scorer for his side. He smashed 70 runs off 59 balls, featuring nine boundaries.


Baba Indrajith (Dindigul Dragons)

Baba Indrajith, the Kolkata Knight Riders opener, had a rough day. He scored only six runs off 11 balls.


Arun Karthik (Nellai Royal Kings)

Arun Karthik, who has represented Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the past, scored 45 runs at a decent strike rate of 150. His knock featured three fours and as many sixes.


Sonu Yadav (Nellai Royal Kings)

Sonu Yadav, another RCB all-rounder, had a fine day with both the bat and ball. He picked up two wickets and also scored 15 runs off eight balls, including two sixes.


Varun Chakravarthy (Dindigul Dragons)

Varun Chakravarthy, another KKR mystery spinner, bowled an excellent spell. He conceded just 15 runs in four overs and also chipped in with two wickets.


Ravichandran Ashwin (Dindigul Dragons)

Ravichandran Ashwin, the Rajasthan Royals bowling all-rounder, also bowled effectively for the Dindigul Dragons. He took two wickets in four overs at an economy of 5.75. He also scored 15 runs off 13 balls with one boundary.
