TNPL 2024: How did the IPL players fare in Siechem Madurai Panthers vs Trichy Grand Cholas, Match 7? ft. Swapnil Singh & Sanjay Yadav

On Tuesday, July 9, 2024, Siechem Madurai Panthers and Trichy Grand Cholas locked horns in the sixth Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2024 match.

The Grand Cholas batted first and posted a 194-run target for two wickets. Cholas opener Arjun Murthy was dismissed in the first over. However, Waseem Ahmed and S Shyam Sundar (30) stitched a 66-run partnership for the second wicket. Later, Sanjay Yadav smacked an excellent 60-run inning with Sundar (90*) to set a formidable total.

Ramadoss Alexander and Gurjapneet Singh picked up one wicket each for the Panthers.

In reply, the Panthers batters struggled with skipper Hari Nishaanth top-scoring 39 off 20. Swapnil Singh (18), Uthirasamy Sasidev (17), and Akram Khan (11) also made some handy contributions in the lower-middle order but fell short by 67 runs.

Sanjay Yadav led the bowling attack of Trichy with R Rajkumar, both taking a three-wicket haul. Athisayaraj Davidson contributed two wickets while Saravana Kumar and K Easwaran picked up one each.

Sanjay Yadav (Trichy Grand Cholas)

Sanjay Yadav of Trichy Grand Cholas has represented Mumbai Indians in the IPL. He showcased an all-round performance in the previous game against Seichem Madurai Panthers.

Sanjay scored a notable unbeaten knock of 60 runs at an excellent strike rate of 181.81. His knock featured three fours and four sixes.

The Trichy all-rounder also contributed with the ball, taking three wickets for 28 runs in his four-over quota.


Murugan Ashwin (Siechem Madurai Panthers)

Murugan Ashwin has played for several IPL teams, including Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bengaluru. He represents the Panthers in the 2024 TNPL.

Ashwin had a disappointing run in the last game with the ball, conceding 38 runs without a wicket. He also scored four runs in seven balls.


Swapnil Singh (Siechem Madurai Panthers)

Swapnil Singh, who recently represented Royal Challengers Bengaluru in IPL 2024, went wicketless in the previous game against Trichy Grand Chalos. However, he contributed decently with the bat, scoring 18 runs off 19 balls, including one four.


Hari Nishaanth (Siechem Madurai Panthers)

Hari Nishaanth, the Siechem Madurai Panthers captain, has been a part of the Chennai Super Kings squad. He bowled one over in the last game and conceded 10 runs.

However, Hari performed much better with the bat as he top-scored for the Panthers. He struck 39 runs from 20 balls, with six boundaries.
