"Toot gaya apne ghar ka ghamand"- Top 10 funny memes after New Zealand's thumping win in 2nd Test vs India 2024 in Pune
New Zealand beat India comfortably by 113 runs in the second Test on Saturday (October 26) at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. As a result, they scripted history by winning a Test series for the first time on Indian soil, taking a 2-0 lead in the three-match series.
The visiting side began with 198/5 on Day 3 and got bundled for 255 in their second innings, setting a target of 359 for India on a dry turning track. Washington Sundar (4/56) and Ravindra Jadeja (3/72) were among the wickets for the hosts.
Yashasvi Jaiswal then played a blazing knock of 77 (65) and ignited the hopes of fans during the chase. However, the youngster did not receive any support from other batters on a tricky surface as the hosts got all out for 245 in the third session. Mitchell Santner was the chief tormentor of the Indian batting line-up once again, as he ended with 13 wickets across the match.
Fans were highly disappointed after witnessing the home team's dismal performance in the Pune Test, which resulted in a series loss. At the end of the contest, they expressed their reactions by sharing memes on social media platforms.

"It was a whole team effort" - New Zealand captain Tom Latham after beating India in the 2nd Test and winning the series
At the post-match presentation, New Zealand skipper Tom Latham reflected on the memorable series triumph, saying:
"It's really a special feeling. Proud to be up in this position. It was a whole team effort. Everyone stood up at different time. Yeah it's really specially. When you come over here, you want to compete. We played brilliantly in Bangalore. We wanted to keep our feets on the ground. Mitchell Santner in the first innings was absolutely fantastic."
He continued:
"We didn't play that badly in Sri Lanka. We did a lot of good things there. We stuck to our basics here, played the long game. Both surfaces were different and we adapted brilliantly. For us it's was to be positive. We wanted to put ourselves on the frontfoot yesterday. We knew India would come out hot. There was a great middle session. Boys bowled brilliantly. The last three wickets almost took an age but when Southee took the catch, it was something really special."
The third and final Test of the series will commence on November 1 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
