"Travis Head should be declared as a pandemic in India"- Top 10 funny memes as Australia dominates on Day 2 of 3rd Test vs India BGT 2024-25

Australia took control of the Brisbane Test with a dominating batting performance on the second day against India at the Gabba. The hosts had reached 405/7 at stumps to steer themselves into the driver's seat.

After commencing at the overnight score of 28/0, Australia found themselves in trouble at 75/3 in the first session. Travis Head (152 off 160) walked to the crease at this juncture and played a scintillating knock, continuing prolific form against India.

He changed the complexion of the match with a 241-run marathon partnership with Steve Smith en route to his second successive Test century. Smith played an ideal foil with a watchful century (101 off 190), ending his lean run of form in Tests.

Jasprit Bumrah dismissed both the centurions in the final session with the second new ball to complete his five-wicket haul. However, he did not receive much support from the other bowlers, as the Australian lower order accumulated runs quickly and ended up with a healthy total of 405 at stumps, with Alex Carey (45*) and Mitchell Starc (7*) at the crease.

Fans were highly disappointed after India's poor performance on day 2 of the third BGT 2024-25 Test on Sunday, December 15. They expressed their reactions by sharing memes on X (formerly Twitter).

"That's one area I think we need to get better at"- Morne Morkel on India's bowling unit after Day 2 of 3rd Test vs Australia BGT 2024-25

Team India bowling coach Morne Morkel analyzed his side's performance after the end of day's play. He pointed out that the visiting bowling unit struggled with the old ball and leaked runs in Adelaide and Brisbane.

The South African native felt that Travis Head took advantage of it and countered all their plans effectively to score match-defining centuries. Speaking at the press conference after stumps, Morkel said:

“Our plan going into this game was to bowl a little bit more over the wicket, a straighter line. We felt he played it quite nicely in Adelaide when we came around (the wicket). The margins to him are just so small and like I said, once he's in, what is the best way for the team and for you (is) to maybe slow down the scoring rate because you know he's going to be aggressive."

He continued:

"The best way (of controlling Head) is bringing a little bit of control into the game and like I said, from over 50 with that softer ball, that's where we're leaking (runs). When Head comes on straight, the pitch kind of feels to (be favorable) a side. I think for us with the ball, if you look at it from overs 50 to 80, even in the last game, is where we fall short, leaking (runs) a little bit. So, that's one area I think we need to get better at."
