In a heartwarming gesture, Afghanistan wicketkeeper-batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz was caught offering money to the poor sleeping at night in Ahmedabad on Diwali (November 12). Gurbaz did the good deed before his team left India after the end of their 2023 World Cup campaign.
In a viral video reshared by the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Gurbaz can be seen silently dropping ₹500 notes to the poor on the occasion of Diwali, a festival of lights that is celebrated to mark the victory of good over evil.
The Knight Riders captioned the post:
"@rjlove_shah spotted @rahmanullah.gurbaz near his home in Ahmedabad, quietly spreading some love ahead of Diwali, hours before the Afghanistan team returned home after their heartwarming World Cup journey ended on Friday night."
“From working tirelessly to raise money for the victims of the Herat Earthquake in Afghanistan earlier this month, to this act of kindness in a foreign land - you inspire us all. God bless you, jaani (dear),” the post added.
