"Tu tension mat le ye waali celebration Trophy ke saath karenge"- How Shah Rukh Khan cheered up Harshit Rana his ban during IPL 2024

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) pacer Harshit Rana was banned for the game against the Mumbai Indians in IPL 2024 due to the send-off he gave to Abhishek Porel during a fixture against the Delhi Capitals. After being pumped for a few runs, Harshit gave a send-off to Abhishek Porel upon dismissing the latter and was subsequently banned for one game.

The pacer revealed that although he felt disheartened, his conversation with KKR co-owner Shah Rukh Khan cheered him up. He claimed that Shah Rukh told him that they would repeat the celebration when Kolkata win the title and that's exactly how things panned out.

Here's what Harshit Rana told The Indian Express:

"After I got banned for one match, I was very sad and then Shah Rukh sir came to me and said ‘Tu tension mat le ye waali celebration Trophy ke saath karenge (We will celebrate the IPL with a flying kiss). He promised me and made sure that we did that with the trophy and our team."

On being asked whether he would think twice before doing his celebrations again, Harshit quickly claimed that he would not use it as a send-off. However, he also revealed that he would not stop expressing himself on the field as he believes that gets the best out of him.

I consider myself a proper all-rounder: Harshit Rana

Harshit Rana is not just a good bowler but also has the ability to use the long handle. He reminded the interviewer that he had a century in the Duleep Trophy and claimed that it was the Impact Player rule that didn't allow him to showcase his six-hitting ability.

On this, he stated:

"Duleep Trophy mey century hai (I have a century in the Duleep Trophy). I consider myself a proper all-rounder. In this IPL because of the Impact Player rule, I never got the opportunity to bat. I was itching to smack a few sixes but our team was doing so well that I never got the chance to bat."

Harshit Rana had a sensational season with the ball as he picked up 19 wickets in 13 games and played a massive role in KKR's third IPL title triumph.
