"Tujhe nahi pata tune kya karra hai" - Rishabh Pant recalls Rohit Sharma's words to him after Gabba heroics

Team India's keeper-batter Rishabh Pant has stated that Rohit Sharma told something to him after his heroics in the 2021 Gabba Test, which he could not process immediately, but came to understand later. Pant recalled Rohit telling him that he did not know the magnitude of what he had done.

India stunned Australia by three wickets in the New Year Test at The Gabba in Brisbane in 2021. Chasing 328, the visitors got home courtesy of a splendid knock from Pant (89*). Thanks to the left-hander batter's exploits, India ended Australia's 32-year-old unbeaten streak at The Gabba.

In a video on Star Sports, the keeper-batter was shown a video in which Aussie players picked him when asked to name the Indian player who seems most Australian. Asked for his reaction to the clip, Pant said:

"I don’t know what to say about that, but I’m always trying to do my best."

The 27-year-old recalled his heroics in the Gabba Test and remembered what Rohit told him.

"Sometimes, there are performances that you remember for a lifetime, and one of them for me is the Gabba Test. At the time, I didn’t realize how significant it was. Rohit bhai was there, and he told me, 'Tujhe nahi pata tune kya karra hai. (You have no idea what you've done). I was like, 'What have I done? My aim was just to win the match.' Rohit bhai said, ' Later, you’ll understand what you’ve done.'"
"Now, wherever I get and I hear about it, I understand (what he meant)," the Delhi cricketer concluded.

Pant will be among the key players for India during the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia, which will be played from November 22 to January 7.
