“Unko kaun nahi miss karega” - Former CSK’s pacer emotional response on whether he would miss MS Dhoni after moving to MI following IPL 2025 auction

Right-arm pacer Deepak Chahar admitted that he will miss MS Dhoni after the former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) cricketer was purchased by Mumbai Indians (MI) at the IPL 2025 auction. Responding to a query from retired CSK legend Suresh Raina, Chahar said, 'who won't miss him'.

Chahar was among the players released by Chennai Super Kings ahead of the IPL 2025 auction. He was purchased by Mumbai Indians at the mega auction in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia for ₹9.25 crore.

During a live interaction with experts on JioCinema after he was sold to MI, Raina, somewhat cheekily asked the pace bowler:

"Dhoni bhai ko miss toh karoge (will you miss Dhoni)?"
"Unko kaun nahi miss karega (who won't miss him)," the 32-year-old replied on obvious lines.

Chahar, who went into the IPL 2025 auction at a base price of ₹2 crore, asserted that his bowling would come in handy on pacer-friendly pitches in Mumbai in comparison to the Chepauk, which is known to assist spinners more.

"Ever ytime I talk to (cousin) Rahul (Chahar), I say you are playing for the team (MI) I should be playing and I am playing for the team (CSK) you should be playing, skill-wise. Because in Chennai, there is help for the spinners and in Mumbai for fast bowlers. He couldn't come to Chennai, but I am going to Mumbai. So I will get that advantage," Chahar commented.

While the right-arm pacer was picked Mumbai Indians, his cousin Rahul, a leg-spinner, was sold to Sunrisers Hyderabad for ₹3.20 crore.
