Uttar Pradesh record highest successful run-chase in Indian limited-overs cricket history

Uttar Pradesh (UP) created history on Wednesday, December 25, by recording the highest successful run-chase in Indian domestic limited-overs cricket. They chased down a massive target of 407 runs to achieve this record.

In an U-23 State A Trophy One-Day match at the GSFC Cricket ground, Vadodara, Uttar Pradesh clashed against Vidarbha. Batting first, Vidarbha put up a gigantic total of 406/6 on the board in their 50 overs.

Danish Malewar and skipper MD Faiz slammed tons to set up their innings. Danish scored 142 runs off just 123 deliveries while Faiz slammed a quickfire 62-ball 100. Additionally, Jagjot gave them a strong finish as he struck a magnificent 26-ball 61 that left Uttar Pradesh's bowlers struggling.

However, what followed was not quite anticipated. UP's batters came out with a positive intent and went after the mammoth total. Shaurya Singh (62) and Swastik (41) gave them a solid start in the chase.

Wicket-keeper Shoaib Siddiqui and skipper Sameer Rizvi then took over as there was no looking back for Uttar Pradesh. The duo stitched together an unbeaten 296-run stand for the third wicket that took them over the finish line comfortably in just 41.2 overs, making light work of a massive target.

Siddiqui remained unbeaten on 96 off 73 deliveries while Rizvi slammed his way to an outstanding unbeaten double hundred, scoring 202* off just 105 deliveries. UP not only won the game by eight wickets but also recorded the highest successful run-chase in limited-overs cricket in Indian history.

Uttar Pradesh surpass Bengal Women's team record for highest successful run-chase
