Shivam Dube failed to deliver with the bat for India in their 2024 T20 World Cup semifinal against England at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on Thursday, June 27. The left-hander departed for a golden duck after being sent at No. 7 instead of No. 5 in the knockout game.

Hardik Pandya (23 off 13) and Ravindra Jadeja (17* off nine) were promoted above Dube. He was caught by England captain Jos Buttler off Chris Jordan, who struck off back-to-back deliveries.

Dube has failed to live up to expectations in the 2024 T20 World Cup. The left-hander scored 106 runs in seven matches at a strike rate of 106 with the best score of 34 against Bangladesh. He scored 28 off 22 deliveries in his previous outing against Australia.

A clinical batting display from India captain Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav helped India post 171/7 against defending champions England.

Rohit smashed 57 runs off 39 balls with the help of two sixes and six boundaries. Suryakumar struck 47 off 36, hitting two sixes and four boundaries. Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, and Axar Patel also chipped in double digits. However, Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant departed in single-digit scores.

Chris Jordan starred with the ball for England, returning with figures of 3/37, while Reece Topley, Jofra Archer, Sam Curran, and Adil Rashid bagged one wicket apiece.

The winner of India vs England will face South Africa in the 2024 T20 World Cup final, scheduled to be played in Barbados on Saturday, June 29.

The Men in Blue will be keen to avenge their 10-wicket loss to England from the 2022 edition. Meanwhile, the Jos Buttler-led side will look to reach consecutive T20 World Cup finals in an attempt to win the third title in the tournament.
