Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma snapped outside team hotel on 7th wedding anniversary

Former India captain Virat Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma are celebrating their seventh wedding anniversary today (Wednesday, December 11, 2024). The couple tied the knot in private at Lake Como in Italy after dating for several years in 2017. They recently moved to London, UK, after living together in Mumbai for the first few years following their wedding.

In a video doing the rounds on X, Kohli and Anushka were seen outside the team hotel in Brisbane amid the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy Down Under. The couple opted for a casual outfit on the special occasion.

Take a look:

Kohli and Anushka have two kids. They welcomed their first child, a daughter named Vamika on January 11, 2021. Anushka gave birth to their second baby, a boy named Akaay on 15 February 2024.

The popular couple are enjoying their time in Australia since the first Test in Perth. Kohli recently credited Anushka after scoring his 30th Test ton in the series opener, his first Test hundred after 16 months. He said (via Sportskeeda):

"Anushka has been right by my side through thick and thin. She knows everything that goes on behind the scenes. Knows what goes on in the head when you're not performing well."

Virat Kohli, however, failed to deliver with the bat in the second Test, returning with scores of 7 and 11 in his two innings.

When Ravi Shastri allowed Virat Kohli to accompany Anushka Sharma during 2014-15 Australia tour

Former India head coach Ravi Shastri recently revealed that he allowed Virat Kohli to accompany his then-girlfriend during the 2014-15 Australia tour. He made a special request despite only wives being allowed on the tour. The cricketer-turned-commentator told Fox Sports (via NDTV):

"I remember when I was the coach in 2015. He (Virat) wasn't married then. He was dating Anushka. He came and he said - only wives are allowed. Can I get my girlfriend in here? I said sure but he said that the board is not allowing it. So, I made the call."
"She came and she joined us there. In the very first match - the Boxing Day Test, he scored 160 [169 in Melbourne to be precise]. The same scenes happened. The flying kiss went out just like yesterday. So, she is a big support," he added.

Virat Kohli will now be looking to deliver in the third Test against Australia, which starts in Brisbane on December 14.
