Virat Kohli & Rohit Sharma among 3 Indians in Afghanistan captain Hashmatullah Shahidi's all-time ODI XI

Afghanistan skipper Hashmatullah Shahidi picked his all-time ODI XI on journalist Shubhankar Mishra's YouTube channel, and the list included three Indian players - Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah. The trio were recently part of India's 2024 T20 World Cup winning team and played a vital role in their run to the 2023 ODI World Cup final.

Kohli is the third leading run-scorer in ODIs with 13,906 runs at an incredible average of 58.18 and a strike rate of 93.54 in 296 games. His 50 centuries is also the most in the format.

Meanwhile, India's ODI captain Rohit Sharma's numbers aren't far off with 10,866 runs at an average of 49.16 and a strike rate of 92.43, including 31 centuries. Bumrah was the Player of the Tournament in India's recent T20 World Cup triumph and boasts a sensational ODI record with 149 wickets at an average of 23.55.

Shahidi's star-studded batting lineup also included former Pakistan cricketers Saeed Anwar and Inzamam ul Haq. While Inzamam is the seventh all-time leading scorer in ODIs with 11,739 runs, Anwar is 21st with 8,824 runs.

The Afghanistan skipper also included the legendary Sri Lankan duo of Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene in his all-time ODI XI. The pair helped Sri Lanka to back-to-back ODI World Cup finals in 2007 and 2011 and are second and sixth all-time among leading run-scorers with 14,234 (Sangakkara) and 12,650 runs, respectively.

Shahidi made a surprising choice as his wicket-keeper with former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif getting the nod. Latif played 166 ODIs and finished with 1,709 runs, while affecting 220 dismissals behind the wicket.

Former England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff and Pakistan legend Waqar Younis were the other two pacers along with Bumrah in Shahidi's XI. Younis is third all-time in ODI wickets with 416 at an average of 23.84, including a stunning 13 five-wicket hauls.

Meanwhile, Flintoff scored 3,394 runs at an average of 32 and a strike rate of almost 89, while picking up 169 wickets at an average of under 25 in his stellar ODI career.

Finally, Shahidi went with his Afghanistan teammate Rashid Khan as the lone spinner in his lineup. Rashid has 190 wickets in 105 ODIs at an average of under 20 and an economy of 4.21.
