“Walks into a storm and makes a hundred” - Ravichandran Ashwin praises Kamran Ghulam for scoring century on debut during the PAK vs ENG 2nd Test 2024
Veteran Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin took to social media on Tuesday (October 15) to commend Pakistani cricketer Kamran Ghulam for scoring a century on his Test debut. The 29-year-old achieved this impressive milestone on Day 1 of the second Test between Pakistan and England at Multan Cricket Stadium.
Replacing Pakistan’s star batter Babar Azam in the squad, the debutant didn’t disappoint. Kamran came to bat at No. 4 after the hosts lost two wickets for just 19 runs. He steadied the innings for Pakistan and, in the process, scored a fifty off 104 balls. The right-handed batter didn’t stop there and continued to play well, notching up a century on debut off 192 balls.
Reacting to this achievement, Indian spinner Ashwin praised the debutant on X, writing:
“With all the talk about “Babar” spare a thought for Kamran Ghulam, walks into a storm and makes a hundred.”
Meanwhile, Ashwin will be in action when India face New Zealand in the first Test of the three-match series, starting Wednesday, October 16, in Bengaluru.
