"Was dying to see a batting image" - Suryakumar Yadav reacts to Jasprit Bumrah's practice pictures ahead of IND vs BAN 2024 1st Test

Team India's pace bowling spearhead Jasprit Bumrah will be seen in action in the side's upcoming Test series opener against Bangladesh, beginning September 19. The Men in Blue have commenced their training camp in Chennai ahead of the fixture.

Taking to his official Instagram account on Sunday, September 15, Bumrah shared a few pictures, giving fans a glimpse of his recent practice session. The star pacer posted:

India's T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav commented on the aforementioned post, expressing his desire to see a batting image from Bumrah. The 34-year-old wrote:

"Aahhhh was dying to see a batting image booooooom."

It is worth mentioning that Bumrah will return to the cricket field following a much-deserved break. He was the Player of the Tournament in India's 2024 T20 World Cup-winning campaign earlier this year, bagging 15 wickets from eight outings at a fantastic economy rate of 4.17.


"The most valuable Indian cricketer right now" - Ravichandran Ashwin on Jasprit Bumrah

Veteran Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has reserved high praise on Jasprit Bumrah, hailing the seamer as the most valuable Indian cricketer at the moment.

He pointed out how Bumrah received a tremendous reception from fans when he recently attended an event in Chennai. Speaking on journalist Vimal Kumar's YouTube channel, Ashwin said:

"We Chennai people appreciate bowlers a lot. He was here for an event as a chief guest 4-5 days ago. We gave him a Rajni treatment. We (Chennai people) treat bowlers very nicely. He should be treated as a champion. I don’t want to name, but Jasprit Bumrah is the most valuable Indian cricketer right now."

The upcoming Test season will be crucial for Team India as they look to make it to the World Test Championship (WTC) final for the third successive time. They are currently placed at the top of the standings with 74 points and a percentage points (PCT) of 68.52.
