"Was that fast enough for you?" - Fans slam Yashasvi Jaiswal for soft dismissal off second ball of innings in 3rd BGT 2024-25

Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal disappointed the fans again on Day 3 (December 16) of the third Australia Test in Brisbane. The 22-year-old was dismissed in the first over for a third time in five innings of the series to left-arm pacer Mitchell Starc.

After a streaky boundary first ball, Jaiswal played a tame flick to a delivery on middle and leg to be caught at short square leg. Apart from the brilliant 161 in the second innings of the first Test at Perth, the southpaw has reached double figures only once in four innings with a sub-par average of 7.

It was the third time Starc dismissed Jaiswal in the series and a second dismissal in three innings after the batter called the left-arm pacer 'slow' during his Perth century.

Fans on Twitter were furious with Jaiswal's soft dismissal and had the following reactions:

Fans continued slamming Jaiswal for his second-ball dismissal with one saying:

"That was a foolish dismissal. Jaiswal is doing what Sarfaraz did in the last series. One 150, 2 ducks & <30 runs in other 2 innings."
"Jaiswal 0 game awareness you been standing at gully 120 overs seeing your best bowler toil damn hard for 120 overs and you get a soft ball at the pads and you just give your wicket away. You’re in form right now you’re gotta get better at reading match situations," tweeted a fan.
"Jaiswal will definitely regret saying, "It's too slow." Since those remarks, he has struggled to handle Starc effectively, opening the door to criticism. Being young and inability to maintain composure seem evident." a fan said.

Yashasvi Jaiswal's dismissal leaves India in trouble in Brisbane Test

Things continue to go from bad to worse for Team India on Day 3 of the all-important Brisbane Test.

After a hard toil on Day 2 that saw the hosts cross the 400-run mark, India finally wrapped up the Aussie first innings for 445. However, their batting essay started on the worst possible note, with Jaiswal's first-over dismissal leaving them 4/1 in the opening over.

Another young batter Shubman Gill drove loosely at one outside off-stump from Starc to be dismissed for one off three balls, leaving India in disarray at 6/2 in the third over.

With the series tied at 1-1 and India desperately needing a partnership, the visitors were further put in trouble when Josh Hazlewood sent Virat Kohli packing for a 16-ball three. At Lunch, India stand at 22/3 in 7.2 overs.
