13-year-old prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi showcased his talent with a blistering fifty for India U19 in their match against UAE U19 in the ACC U19 Asia Cup 2024. The game took place on Wednesday, December 4, at the Sharjah Cricket Ground.

UAE won the toss and chose to bat first, but their top order struggled. Aryan Saxena (9), Akshat Rai (26), Yayin Rai (0), and Ethan Dsouza (17) failed to make significant contributions. Rayan Khan top-scored with 35, but the rest of the batters couldn't deliver, as UAE were bowled out for 137 in 44 overs. Yudhajit Guha was the standout bowler for India, claiming three wickets.

Chasing a target of 138, India U19 openers Ayush Mhatre and Vaibhav Suryavanshi came out all guns blazing. The pair added 50 runs in just 6.3 overs, with Vaibhav playing aggressively and bringing up his half-century in just 32 balls.

Here’s a video of Vaibhav Suryavanshi's innings:

Vaibhav remained unbeaten on 76 off 46 balls, including three boundaries and six sixes. Mhatre was equally impressive, finishing on 67* off 51 balls, with four boundaries and as many sixes.

India chased down the target in just 16.1 overs, securing a dominant 10-wicket victory and advancing to the semi-finals. India will face Sri Lanka in the semi-final on Friday, December 6.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi became the youngest player to be sold in IPL history

The 13-year-old cricketer from Bihar made history by becoming the youngest player ever sold in the IPL during the mega auction, which concluded on November 25. The left-handed batter was bought by Rajasthan Royals for INR 1.10 crore.

Meanwhile, Vaibhav first garnered attention earlier this year when he made his Ranji Trophy debut in a match against Mumbai, scoring 19 and 12 across two innings. Overall, he has played in five first-class matches, accumulating 100 runs.
