[Watch] 2024 T20 World Cup champions India board special Air India flight to New Delhi after inclement weather delayed home return

2024 T20 World Cup champions Team India, along with the country's media persons, boarded a special Air India flight to return home after being stranded in Barbados due to inclement weather. The delay came as heavy rains lashed the Caribbean Island, accompanied by Hurricane Beryl, which affected the electricity and water supply over the last few days and also shut all flight operations.

The Indian players were originally scheduled to leave from Barbados on Monday and fly to New York before taking a connecting flight to Dubai and then to Mumbai. The bad weather forced the Indian Cricket Team to stay in their team hotel in Barbados.

In a video shared by cricket journalist Nikhil Naz, Rohit Sharma and Co. were seen boarding a special flight to get them back to India. The journalists and media persons will accompany players on the same flight back home as a special gesture from BCCI secretary Jay Shah, who arranged the special carrier.
