[Watch] "Abbe sar mein kuch hai?" - Rohit Sharma miffed after bowler sprays a wide outside the pitch in BGT 2024-25 3rd Test

Team India skipper Rohit Sharma's hilarious expression of frustration was caught on the stump mic on Day 3 (Monday, December 16) of the third Test against Australia at the Gabba in Brisbane. With Akash Deep spraying the ball wide outside the off-stump when Alex Carey was batting, the 37-year-old was miffed and said, "Abe sar mein kuch hai? (Is there anything in your brain?).'

The incident occurred in the 114th over of Australia's first innings as the Bihar-born speedster's delivery missed the pitch, with wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant putting in a full-length dive to stop the ball from going to the boundary. The hosts got two runs as they ran a bye, along with umpire Richard Illingworth signaling it wide.

The 28-year-old had toiled for over 20 overs on Day 2 and had beaten the Aussie batters on numerous occasions. However, he failed to get a wicket. Deep, who replaced Harshit Rana for the third Test, got his first wicket of the innings in the form of Alex Carey, who perished for 70.

With Australia amassing 445, headlined by twin centuries from Steve Smith and Travis Head, Rohit Sharma's men are under considerable pressure. The home side's new-ball pair of Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood were penetrative enough to pick up three wickets before rain forced players to take an early lunch. Starc got the better of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill while Josh Hazlewood got Virat Kohli to nick off behind the stumps to Alex Carey.

With India struggling at 34-3 after 12 overs, the onus will be on KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, and Rohit Sharma to bail them out.

Team India won the first Test at the Optus Stadium in Perth by 295 runs, while Australia bounced back to win the second by 10 wickets. Due to inclement weather in Brisbane, the third Test could end in a draw. The fourth Test (Boxing Day) begins on December 26 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
