[Watch] Abhimanyu Easwaran livid with himself after missing out on a double-century in the 2024 Irani Cup

Abhimanyu Easwaran was angry with himself after missing out on a well-deserved double-century on Day 4 of the 2024 Irani Cup game between the Rest of India and Mumbai at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Friday, October 4. The right-handed batter departed after playing an impactful knock, scoring 191 runs off 292 deliveries, hitting one six and 16 boundaries. The 29-year-old has now scored three consecutive centuries in first-class cricket, having already smashed back-to-back tons in the recently concluded 2024 Duleep Trophy.

The dismissal came in the 103rd over of the Rest of India’s first innings. Shams Mulani bowled a flighted delivery outside leg and Easwaran went for a sweep shot. The ball ballooned off the top edge towards shot fine and Tanush Kotian took an easy catch. Easwaran smashed the ground with his bat while making his way back to the pavilion.

With the wicket, Mulani took back-to-back wickets for Mumbai to bring them back into the game. He dismissed Dhruv Jurel in the previous over to break the 165-run stand for the fifth wicket.
