[Watch] Adil Rashid cleans up Aiden Markram with a peach in ENG vs SA 2024 T20 World Cup match

England’s Adil Rashid took the prized scalp of South Africa captain Aiden Markram in their Super-Eight 2024 T20 World Cup match at Gros Islet, St Lucia on Friday, June 21. Markram departed for just one run off two balls to leave SA in a spot of bother at 113-4.

The dismissal came in the 15th over of Proteas’ innings. Rashid bowled a slow leg break delivery and Markram stayed on the back foot. The right-hander tried to force it through the off-side with hard hands but the ball drifted and dipped late to catch the inside edge before deflecting back onto the leg stump.

In the match, Adil Rashid finished with excellent figures of 1/20 in his four overs. The leg spinner has bagged seven wickets in six games in the T20 tournament so far.

On the other hand, Aiden Markram has failed to live up to expectations in the mega ICC event, barring the last group-stage game against the co-hosts USA, where he scored 46 off 32 balls.
