[Watch] Ajaz Patel dismisses Yashasvi Jaiswal & Mohammed Siraj off consecutive balls on Day 1 of 3rd IND vs NZ 2024 Test

New Zealand’s Ajaz Patel dismissed Yashasvi Jaiswal and Mohammed Siraj off consecutive deliveries on the fag end of Day 1 of the third Test against India at the Wankhede Stadium on Friday, November 1.

Patel cleaned up Jaiswal (30 off 52 balls) after the left-hander failed to execute the reverse sweep before trapping nightwatchman Siraj LBW off the next delivery for a duck.

The dismissals came in the 18th over of India’s first innings. Ajaz bowled a quicker delivery at 96kmph to beat Jaiswal. The left-hander was early in his shot and Ajaz made late adjustments and drifted the ball away from the batter. Jaiswal turned around to see the leg-stump in a mess. The off-spinner celebrated in delight after breaking the 50-plus runs partnership.

Ajaz Patel then bowled a tossed-up delivery on middle and leg that stuck Siraj on the backfoot. The on-field umpire immediately gave it out but Siraj challenged the decision, taking a review, which ended in vain. The replays showed no ultra edge as the ball crashed into the stumps.
