[Watch] Alana King bowls a beauty to dismiss Bess Heath in The Hundred Women’s Competition 2024 

Trent Rockets Women’s player Alana King bowled a brilliant delivery to dismiss Bess Heath in the fourth match of The Hundred Women’s Competition. The match took place on Friday, July 26, at Headingley, Leeds.

The dismissal came on the 26th ball. Alana King bowled a scorching leg break that landed on the perfect length and turned away sharply to hit the top of the off-stump.

Bess Heath was completely beaten and left the field without troubling the scorers. Her wicket left the Northern Superchargers Women at 32/4 after 26 balls while chasing a target of 124 runs.

The Northern Superchargers had a poor outing with the bat as the Trent Rockets bowlers kept chipping away. Lucy Higham (26) was the highest scorer for the Superchargers, as they were bowled out on 103 runs in 97 balls, losing the match by 20 runs.

Heather Graham was the pick of the bowlers for Trent Rockets, taking three wickets. Meanwhile, Nat Sciver-Brunt and Alana King bagged two wickets each.


Grace Scrivens shines with the bat for Trent Rockets in The Hundred

Trent Rockets captain Nat Sciver-Brunt won the toss and elected to bat first in their The Hundred clash against Northern Superchargers Women. Bryony Smith (23) and Grace Scrivens stitched together a 47-run opening partnership in 34 balls. The left-handed batter, Scrivens, was brilliant as she scored 32 runs off 22 balls, smashing six boundaries.

The Rockets batters struggled towards the end, but captain Sciver-Brunt kept scoring from one end. The right-handed batter remained unbeaten on 36 off 34 balls as the Trent Rockets finished at 123/5 in 100 balls.

Annabel Sutherland was brilliant for the Northern Superchargers; she took three wickets and conceded only 14 runs in her 20 balls. However, the Superchargers batters failed to put up a decent show with the bat and lost their opening game of the tournament.

The Rockets will next face Manchester Originals Women in The Hundred on Monday, July 29. Meanwhile, Northern Superchargers Women will take on Southern Brave Women on Tuesday, July 30.
