[Watch] Andre Russell's twin strike helps KKR claw back into the IPL 2024 match against RCB

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) all-rounder Andre Russell brought his team roaring back against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in their IPL 2024 clash at the Eden Gardens on Sunday, April 21.

Rajat Patidar and Will Jacks put on a stunning partnership of 102 runs where their roles seemed to be clear. While Jacks took on the pacers, and Patidar proved why he was considered one of the best spin-hitters in the country as he smashed Sunil Narine and Suyash Sharma for sixes at will.

Shreyas Iyer turned to Andre Russell for inspiration and the all-rounder produced the goods, just like he had so many times for the Knight Riders over the years. He first got Will Jacks caught at long on as the latter couldn't middle a fuller length delivery.

Just three balls later, Russell deceived Rajat Patidar with a slower delivery that the latter tried to deposit into the stands over leg-side. He couldn't get hold of it at all as it lobbed up in the air and Harshit Rana completed a simple catch at short point.

Here's the video of both dismissals:

Bengaluru suddenly had two new batters at the crease in the space of four deliveries, as Russell's over put KKR ahead in the match.

RCB continued to implode after Andre Russell's over

KKR skipper Shreyas Iyer then got Sunil Narine into the attack from the other end. Bengaluru might have been better off seeing off the off-spinner's last over.

Cameron Green smashed Narine over cow corner on the first ball of the over but went for the shot again, only to get caught at deep mid-wicket.

Here's the video of Green's dismissals:

RCB's Mahipal Lomror was then done by some brilliant bowling as he chipped one straight back to Narine. Here's how he was dismissed:

Russell and Narine's two overs made an incredible difference as KKR won the game in a thrilling fashion by just one run, handing RCB their seventh loss of the season in just eight games.
