[Watch] Andre Russell takes a brilliant catch running backward in The Hundred Men’s Competition

London Spirit’s player Andre Russell took an excellent catch running back towards the boundary against Welsh Fire in the 10th game of the Men’s Hundred Competition on Thursday, August 1. The match is being played at Lord’s Cricket Ground in London.

The dismissal came on the 15th ball of the Welsh Fire’s innings. London Spirit pacer Olly Stone bowled a short ball, which Tom Kohler-Cadmore tried to hit out of the park but miscued as it went high in the air. Andre Russell charged from the inside circle towards deep mid-on to pull off a stunning catch.

Tom Kohler-Cadmore struggled during his time at the crease. The right-handed batter scored just four runs off 13 balls. His dismissal left his side at 5/1 after 15 balls.


Welsh Fire struggles after losing early wickets

After being asked to bat, Welsh Fire didn’t start well. London Spirit bowler Daniel Worrall bowled 10 dot deliveries on a trot to start the innings. Tom Kohler-Cadmore's innings (4) soon came to an end as he was dismissed by Olly Stone.

To give the scoreboard a move-on, Luke Wells came all gun-blazing. Before departing, the left-handed player scored 23 runs off eight balls. Jonny Bairstow (12 off 11 balls) and Joe Clark (5 off 11 balls) struggled as the Welsh Fire found themselves 51/4 after 46 balls.

At the time of writing, the Welsh Fire were 69/4 after 65 balls, with Glenn Phillips (9) and Tom Abell (12) at the crease.
