[Watch] Andrew Flintoff's son, Rocky, hits magnificent maiden List-A half-century

England legend Andrew Flintoff's 16-year-old son continued to impress on the domestic circuit, hitting a stroke-filled 88 (115) for Lancashire in the One-Day Cup match against Middlesex at Old Trafford on Thursday, August 8.

This was his first List-A half-century. He got out on the last ball of the innings after hitting six fours and two sixes. Wickets fell at a quick pace on the other end and Lancashire could only score 233/9 in the reduced 48 overs after an earlier spell of rain.

Rocky needed to hit two sixes off the last two balls to get to his century but played a dot on the penultimate delivery of the innings. On the last ball, he was caught at long-off by Josh de Caires, who, interestingly is the son of another former England captain and great, Michael Atherton.

This was the teenager's fifth appearance for Lancashire after he became their youngest-ever debutant at 16 years and 113 days last month. Before that, he had said that signing his first contract with the team was a "dream come true."

"I'm very happy and excited to have signed my first professional contract with Lancashire," Rocky said in a statement on June 13. "It's something that I've been working towards since I started playing cricket, so to sign for my home county is a dream come true."
"I've been with the club since I was eight years old, so to have the opportunity to keep representing the Red Rose is a big honour. I have loved playing for the Second XI so far this season and I'm looking forward to continuing to work hard on all aspects of my game," he added.

Rocky's father Andrew also made 108 appearances for Lancashire in List-A cricket, scoring 2740 runs and picking up 103 wickets.

Rocky Flintoff has already started breaking records

Apart from similarities with his father's batting style, Rocky has also been a record-breaker from a young age.

He was selected for England U-19s' youth Test series against Sri Lanka and scored a century in the second game, becoming the youngest to the milestone for the Young Lions.
