[Watch] Anrich Nortje cleans up Corey Anderson immediately after getting hit for a 6 during SA vs USA 2024 T20 World Cup clash
South Africa pacer Anrich Nortje completed an act of revenge as he cleaned up Corey Anderson immediately after getting hit for a six during the 2024 T20 World Cup clash against the USA team. The Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua, hosted the contest on Wednesday, June 19.
The incident happened during the 10th over of the second innings bowled by Nortje. After playing a dot on the first ball, Anderson tried to inject momentum into USA's innings by smashing a six over deep mid-wicket region.
Nortje followed it with a quick 91 mph fuller delivery at stumps. The southpaw backed away and attempted another big shot but completely missed it, as the ball knocked over the stumps.

South Africa beat the USA by 18 runs in the first Super 8 match of 2024 T20 World Cup
South Africa batted first in the contest after losing the toss. Veteran opener Quinton de Kock (74) scored a quickfire half-century and set the platform for a daunting total. Aiden Markram (46), Heinrich Klaasen (36*), and Tristan Stubbs (20*) chipped in with significant contributions to take South Africa to 194/4 in 20 overs.
The USA were then reduced to 76/5 in 11.1 overs, and the target looked out of their reach. However, Andries Gous did not give up and played a valiant knock of 80* (47) to keep his side in the hunt till the end. Harmeet Singh complemented him well with a blazing cameo of 38. However, Kagiso Rabada (3/18) bowled brilliantly in the end and ensured a victory for the South African team.
After receiving the Player of the Match award, Quinton de Kock reflected on his performance and the win, saying:
"It's nice getting out and especially on a decent wicket finally, we've had tricky wickets coming up until this game. Boys played really well, USA played well and put us under pressure towards the end, it was a great game."
He continued:
"Not much, just focus on scoring runs towards the with the win and shorter boundary. We've had a tricky couple of wickets coming into this game, it was nice to hit the ball from the middle, scored some runs to our names, great to be out there."
