[Watch] Arshdeep Singh removes Aiden Markram and Heinrich Klaasen in succssive deliveries in IND vs SA 2024 4th T20I

Team India's left-arm seamer Arshdeep Singh bagged two massive wickets in what had been an incisive new-ball spell in the fourth T20I against South Africa in Johannesburg. The 25-year-old dismissed South African skipper Aiden Markram and Heinrich Klaasen in successive deliveries to rattle the hosts.

The dismissals occurred in the third over of the innings as Markram was the first one to go. The right-hander had blasted the previous ball for a boundary but miscued one towards the off-side. Ravi Bishnoi took an absolute skier after a juggling act.

Meanwhile, Klaasen departed without troubling the scores, trapped lbw as the review could not save him either. Arshdeep had earlier removed Reeza Hendricks in the opening over with a corker of a delivery.

After Team India skipper Suryakumar Yadav won the toss and opted to bat first, the Men in Blue delivered a power-packed batting performance. After a 73-run opening stand, Tilak Varma and Sanju Samson blasted unbeaten hundreds to propel their side to 283/1 in 20 overs. Lutho Sipamla was the only wicket-taker for them, getting rid of Abhishek Sharma for 36 of 18 deliveries.

The Madhya Pradesh-born bowler eventually finished with figures of 3-0-20-3 as South Africa's innings lasted only 18.2 overs with 148 runs. Their top three failed to reach double figures. Tristan Stubbs (43), David Miller (36), and Marco Jansen (29*) made some contributions, but the Proteas still lost by a massive 135 runs.

Axar Patel and Varun Chakravarthy took two wickets each, while Hardik Pandya, Ramandeep Singh, and Ravi Bishnoi claimed one piece to fashion a 3-1 series win for India. South Africa's only win in the series came in Gqeberha as Stubbs' unbeaten 47 guided the home side to a three-wicket victory.
