[Watch] Arundhati Reddy gives Nida Dar an aggressive send-off in IND-W vs PAK-W T20 World Cup 2024 match

Indian pacer Arundhati Reddy was pumped up as she cleaned up Pakistan’s senior batter Nida Dar during their 2024 Women’s T20 World Cup game on Sunday, October 6. The game is being played at Dubai International Cricket Stadium in the UAE.

The key moment came on the fourth ball of the final over of Pakistan’s innings. Arundhati bowled a fuller delivery that swung back in. Nida attempted to heave it but missed, resulting in the ball hitting the off-stump.

The Indian pacer was visibly excited, giving Nida an aggressive send-off with hand gestures and shouts of celebration. The 37-year-old scored 28 off 34 balls, hitting one boundary.

After opting to bat first, the Women in Green did not get off to an ideal start, losing opener Gull Feroza for a four-ball duck in the opening over. Muneeba Ali scored 17 runs off 26 balls, while Sidra Amin (8) and Omaima Sohail (3) failed to make significant contributions.

Nida Dar was the top scorer with 28 runs, and at the end of the innings, Syeda Aroob Shah remained unbeaten with 14 runs off 17 balls as Pakistan finished at 105 for eight in their allotted 20 overs. Arundhati claimed three wickets, while Shreyanka Patil took two for India.


Smriti Mandhana fails for the second time in the 2024 T20 World Cup as India loses two wickets

Chasing a target of 106, the Women in Blue lost Smriti Mandhana for seven runs off 16 balls in the fifth over. India started slowly, managing only 25 runs during the powerplay.

Shafali Verma and Jemimah Rodrigues put together a partnership of 43 runs off 44 balls for the second wicket, with Verma scoring 32 runs from 35 balls, including three fours.

At the time of writing, India were 67-2 after 13 overs, needing 39 runs to win with Rodrigues (18) and Harmanpreet Kaur (5) at the crease.
