South Delhi Superstarz captain Ayush Badoni stole the show with his batting exploits in his team's Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2024 match against North Delhi Strikers at Arun Jaitley Stadium on Saturday, August 31. The right-handed batter played a stellar 165-run knock in just 55 deliveries.
Badoni walked out to bat at No. 3 after opener Sarthak Ray was dismissed for 11. The 24-year-old took the bowlers to the cleaners, entertaining the viewers with his hitting. He struck 19 sixes and eight fours during his stay at the crease, finishing with a staggering strike rate of 300.
In the process, Badoni broke Chris Gayle's record for most sixes hit in a T20 game. The southpaw had struck 18 sixes in a Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) match in December 2017.
Badoni now also has the record of scoring the highest individual score in T20s for an Indian batter, bettering Shreyas Iyer's 147 off 55 balls, which came against Sikkim in February 2019.

Ayush Badoni has been in sensational form with the bat in the ongoing DPL 2024. He is currently the second-highest run-getter of the edition, chalking up 452 runs across seven innings at a strike rate of 212.21. The right-handed batter has four fifties and one century to his name in the tournament.
Ayush Badoni and Priyansh Arya's tons help South Delhi Superstarz register massive 308-run total against North Delhi Strikers
South Delhi Superstarz won the toss and chose to bat first in the afternoon fixture against North Delhi Strikers. While Ayush Badoni scored 165 runs, opening batter Priyansh Arya also notched up a blistering century.
Arya amassed 120 runs from just 50 balls, hitting 10 sixes and as many fours. In the 12th over, he went berserk, hitting six sixes off left-arm spinner Manan Bhardwaj's bowling.
Badoni and Arya's batting exploits helped their team register 308/5 in 20 overs, the highest total of the ongoing inaugural edition of DPL 2024. Pranshu Vijayran was the only bowler to finish with an economy of under 10 as he recorded figures of 4-0-39-2.
The Ayush Badoni-led South Delhi Superstarz are currently second in the points table, with five wins from their first even outings. North Delhi Strikers, on the other hand, have secured three victories from seven games and are third in the standings.
