Pakistan’s Azam Khan took a splendid catch to dismiss Johnson Charles in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2024 on Saturday, September 7. The Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in Gros Islet, St Lucia, hosted the game between Guyana Amazon Warriors and Saint Lucia Kings.
The incident took place during the sixth over bowled of St Lucia innings. Keemo Paul bowled a full-length ball outside off and Charles looked to drive it through the off side. The right-handed batter, however, ended up poking the delivery away from his body to manage and faint edge. Azam dived to his right to complete the blinder.

Guyana Amazon Warriors beat Saint Lucia Kings by 6 wickets in CPL 2024
A clinical all-round display helped Guyana Amazon Warriors beat St Lucia Kings by six wickets in CPL 2024.
Asked to bat first, St Lucia Kings were bundled out for 100 in 14.3 overs. Matthew Forde scored 31 runs off 21 balls with the help of two sixes and three boundaries. Meanwhile, Johnson Charles, Ackeem Auguste, and Tim Seifert were the other batters to score in double digits.
Imran Tahir and Guadekesh Motie emerged as the leading wicket-takers for Guyana, picking up three wickets apiece, while Keemo Paul bagged two scalps.
In response, Guyana achieved the target with 10 overs to spare. Rahmanullag Gurbaz led the chase, scoring a quickfire 47 off 19 deliveries, hitting seven sixes. Tim Robinson, meanwhile, scored 33 off 20, comprising two maximums and three boundaries.
Noor Ahmad produced a fighting display with the ball, returning with figures of 3/22, while Alzarri Joseph bagged one wicket.
With the win, Guyana jumped to the top of the points table with three wins in as many games. Meanwhile, St Lucia dropped to the third spot with their first loss this season after back-to-back wins over St Kitts and Nevis Patriots and Antigua & Barbuda Falcons.
