[Watch] Babar Azam glares back at a shouting fan demanding his exit from the team during the 2nd AUS vs PAK T20I

Pakistan batter Babar Azam was subjected to a testing time while fielding by the boundary ropes during the second T20I against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) on Saturday, November 16. He had to deal with a section of fans demanding his exit from the T20I team following his recent poor string of scores in the format.

In a video making the rounds on social media, Babar was fielding in the deep during the final overs of the Australian innings. While he ignored the initial clamors from the fans demanding him to go back, he turned back after the delivery was bowled on the field.

Babar continued to steal glances and glare at the section, while the riled-up fans kept churning out more insults. Despite being angry at the commotion, the ace batter waved to the other section of fans cheering his name.

Take a look at the incident right here:

Babar Azam was dismissed for a run-a-ball 3 during the run chase. Pakistan stumbled while chasing the 148-run target, and fell short by 13 runs to concede the three-match series with a game to spare.

Babar Azam has scored only 6 runs in the T20I series against Australia

The series opener in Brisbane also did not mark a memorable outing for Babar Azam. He had perished for three runs during the rain-curtailed encounter, finding the fielder in the deep as Pakistan had to chase down 94 runs in seven overs.

With Babar no longer the white-ball skipper, pressure is mounting on him to retain his place as a batter in the side. He has not shown any signs of potentially adapting into a modern-day T20 top-order batter where capitalizing on the powerplay is more essential than ever.

The former skipper has scored 666 runs in 20 T20I innings at an average of 35.07 and a strike rate of 132.67. He was recently dropped from the Test side and looked solid during the victorious ODI series, although his input was not required too much.
