[Watch] Babar Azam signs autographs and clicks selfies with fans after winning 2nd T20I vs New Zealand

Pakistan captain Babar Azam was recently spotted interacting with fans in Rawalpindi after the second T20I against New Zealand. The home team registered a thumping seven-wicket win over the Kiwis in the contest.

Pakistan bowlers Shaheen Afridi (3/13), Shadab Khan (2/15), and Mohammad Amir (2/13) delivered magnificent spells in the first innings to skittle out New Zealand for just 90 in 18.1 overs. None of the Kiwis' batters crossed 20 in the innings, with Mark Chapman being the top-scorer with 19 (16).

The hosts then reached 92/3 in just 12.1 overs and completed the formalities. Mohammad Rizwan anchored the chase with an unbeaten 45* (34) after coming in at No. 3 position. Babar Azam opened the batting and scored 14 (13).

Pakistan Cricket Board shared a video on their official X handle to give a glimpse of Babar Azam's activities after the conclusion of the match. In it, he could be seen signing autographs and clicking pictures with his fans.

Speaking at the post-match presentation, Babar Azam credited his bowling attack for setting the tone for the comfortable victory.

He also stated that they would try different combinations going forward to prepare for the upcoming 2024 T20 World Cup. Reflecting on the win, Babar said:

"The way we started in the first 6 overs was crucial, given the conditions at Pindi. Got to set the tone in them. Outstanding the way our pacers bowled. We'll experiment with our batting and bowling going forward, we planned so in these matches, check where we stand, and finalize with what works in the following games. On paper, looking at the Pakistan team, everyone seems match-winners.

He continued:

"Few youngsters in the team as well, they bring energy, and the senior players have plenty of experience. We plan and execute as per the demands of the situation. We have 10 matches, have to tick the boxes. There'll be some or the other mistake each game, we have to sit and address them. On the day, we try to do well in all three aspects and focus on them every day, so that everything's up to the mark going into the World Cup."
