Earlier, Guyana Amazon Warriors skipper Shai Hope won the toss and opted to bowl first. Asked to bat first, the hosts lost opener Kadeem Alleyne in the third over of their innings with 25 runs on the board. Despite the wickets falling at the other end, De Kock who opened the innings alongside Kadeem, kept going and stayed at the crease until the last over ensuring the Barbados Royals put up a strong total of 205 runs.
Chasing 206 runs for their fourth victory, the Warriors could only manage 173-5 in their 20 overs, thereby falling short of the target by 32 runs. With the figures of 3-42, Keshav Maharaj ended up as the pick of the bowlers despite being expensive (economy rate of 10.50). It was the fourth victory for Rovman Powell and company, who are atop the standings with eight points.
Their only defeat came against the Trinbago Knight Riders at home - a fixture they lost by two wickets.
