[Watch] Coach Ashish Nehra thrilled as Shahrukh Khan scores maiden IPL fifty in GT vs RCB IPL 2024 match

Gujarat Titans (GT) all-rounder Shahrukh Khan played an impactful knock of 58 off just 30 balls against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) during their IPL 2024 match at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, Apil 28.

In what seemed like head coach Ashish Nehra's plan, Shahrukh was promoted to No. 4 after skipper Shubman Gill was dismissed. The move worked wonders and perhaps explained Nehra's animated celebration as the Tamil Nadu all-rounder reached his maiden IPl fifty.

Shahrukh Khan tore into all-rounder Cameron Green with a couple of boundaries followed by a six over long-on to bring up his half-century. Here's the video of his carnage against Green followed by the celebrations of Ashish Nehra and others in the GT dugout:

Shahrukh walked out to bat when the Titans were 45/2 in the seventh over and needed some impetus in their innings. His knock gave the hosts the momentum they desperately were looking for.

Shahrukh Khan & Sai Sudharsan power GT to 200/3

Faf du Plessis' decision to bowl first looked like a great call when GT couldn't get going in the powerplay. The hosts' ploy to send Shahrukh Khan at No. 4 suggested a sense of urgency as the Tamil Nadu all-rounder was mainly used as a finisher.

Shahrukh's promotion injected momentum into Gujarat's innings and also helped Sai Sudharsan up the ante from the other end. The duo added 86 runs for the third wicket and by the time Shahrukh was dismissed, the Titans had a great platform to explode from.

Sudharsan's 84* off just 49 balls coupled with Miller's decent cameo helped GT finish exactly 200/3 in their 20 overs. RCB have lost their skipper Faf du Plessis, but have Virat Kohli out in the middle and will need the star batter to bat big again.
