[Watch] Considerate Naseem Shah gives autograph to dejected kid on Babar Azam's behalf after Pakistan captain walks away

Young Pakistan fast bowler Naseem Shah gave autograph to a young fan on his captain Babar Azam's behalf after the latter had walked away, as he seemed in a hurry. Noticing the disappointment on the fan's face, Naseem gave him his autograph and signed on his captain's behalf as well.

Pakistan are in England for a four-match T20I series. The hosts are 1-0 up in the series. While the first match in Leeds was abandoned due to rain, England clinched the second game in Birmingham by 23 runs. The third T20I in Cardiff on Tuesday, May 28, was also abandoned due to rain.

Meanwhile, a video was shared on social media by an X user in which some young fans were seen requesting for an autograph from Babar. The Pakistan captain obliged one of the kids and walked into the nearby lift. Naseem, though, realized the disappointment among one of the children and stepped in.

Here's the video:

The young fast bowler not only gave the kid his autograph but also signed on Babar's behalf, to which the kid innocently asked him:

"Yeh Babar Azam ka hai? [Is this Babar Azam's]"

Naseem convinces him and replies:

"Haan, yeh Babar Azam ka hi hai. [Yes, this is Babar Azam's.]"

After making sure that the kid overcame his disappointment over not meeting the Pakistan captain, with his heartwarming gesture, Naseem also posed for pictures with some of the other children and interacted with them adorably.

Naseem Shah has been named in Pakistan's 2024 T20 World Cup squad

One of Pakistan's most promising fast bowlers of the current generation, Naseem has been named in the national team's 15-member squad for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024.

The 21-year-old has impressed fans and critics with his pace and potency, but his fitness has been a bit of a concern.

Having made his international debut in 2019, the youngster has represented Pakistan in 17 Tests, 14 ODIs and 24 T20Is.

The right-arm fast bowler has claimed 51 wickets in Test matches, 14 in the one-day format and has 19 scalps in the T20I format. Apart from his bowling skills, Naseem is also a handy lower-order batter, who can strike big hits cleanly.
