[Watch] David Miller takes a blinder to send Tilak Varma packing in IND vs SA 2nd T20I

David Miller took a stunning catch to dismiss Tilak Varma in the second of the four-match T20I series between India and South Africa at Gqeberha on Sunday, November 10. Miller plucked the beauty at extra cover as Varma departed for run-a-ball 20, a knock featuring one six and a boundary.

The dismissal came in the eighth over of India’s innings. South Africa captain Aiden Markram bowled a flighted delivery and Varma tried to launch that over the extra cover. However, Miller jumped to his right over his head to hold onto the catch while falling onto the ground.

With the dismissal, Tilak Varma failed to convert his start into a big score in consecutive innings. The southpaw slammed 33 off 18 deliveries in the first T20I.

David Miller’s South Africa dominating India in 2nd T20I

A clinical bowling display helped South Africa dominate India in the second T20I on Sunday. Marco Jansen cleaned up an in-form Sanju Samson for a three-ball duck before Gerald Coetzee dismissed Abhishek Sharma for four off five deliveries. Andile Simelane soon trapped skipper Suryakumar Yadav for four runs.

At the time of writing, the visitors were 67/4 after 11 overs, with Axar Patel and Hardik Pandya at the crease.

Team India won the first T20I by 61 runs, courtesy of a century from Samson. The latter smashed 107 off 50 balls while Varun Chakaravarthy and Ravi Bishnoi bagged three wickets each.

The Suryakumar Yadav-led side are yet to lose a T20I after he was named the full-time skipper in the format. The Men in Blue beat Sri Lanka and Bangladesh by an identical 3-0 margin in both away and home series. They will now be keen to register a hat-trick of series wins under Yadav’s captaincy.

The Men in Blue are searching for their first T20I series win in South Africa since the 2-1 victory in the 2017/18 series. The two teams will next lock horns in the third T20I in Centurion on Wednesday, November 13.
