[Watch] David Wiese and Khary Pierre take brilliant relay catch in CPL 2024 clash
David Wiese and Khary Pierre completed a brilliant relay catch in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2024 match between St Lucia Kings and Guyana Amazon Warriors. The match took place at Providence Stadium on Saturday, September 28.
Wiese showed brilliant presence of mind to pull the ball back before falling towards the boundary while Pierre kept his eyes on the ball till the last moment. Keemo Paul departed for just one run off the two deliveries he faced.
The dismissal came in the 18th over Guyana’s innings. Noor Ahmad bowled a full-length ball and Paul tried to create room before hitting the ball towards the deep mid-wicket. Wiese completed the catch before falling inside the ropes but got rid of the ball just in time.
Sharing the video on Instagram, CPL’s official handle wrote:
“What a save!!!!! That’s what you call teamwork for a wicket.”

Guyana Amazon Warriors set a 208-run target for St Lucia Kings in CPL 2024 encounter
Half-centuries from Shimron Hetmyer and Shai Hope helped Guyana Amazon Warriors post 207/7 against St Lucia Kings in the CPL 2024 match. Hetmyer top scored with 58 runs off 30 balls, including one six and nine boundaries. Hope also chipped in with 56 off 31 deliveries, comprising five maximums and two boundaries.
Azam Khan and Rahmanullah Gurbaz contributed identical scores of 26 but off 11 and 22 deliveries, respectively. Romario Shephard also added 24 off 16. David Wiese emerged as the pick of the bowlers, finishing with figures of 3/43 in his four overs. Meanwhile, Noor Ahmad and Khary Pierre bagged two wickets apiece.
At the time of writing, Saint Lucia Kings were 101/5, with skipper Faf du Plessis and Wiese at the crease.
The two teams have already qualified for the CPL 2024 playoffs. St Lucia Kings will be keen to consolidate their top place in their last league game of this season. On the contrary, the second-placed Guyana Amazon Warriors are eyeing to topple them for the top spot.
Guyana will lock horns with Trinbago Knight Riders in their last league game on Sunday, September 29.
