[Watch] Dawid Malan hammers 27 runs off Tinashe Muchawaya's over in Zim Afro T10 2024 final
Dawid Malan stole the show with his batting exploits in the Zim Afro T10 2024 final between Joburg Bangla Tigers and Cape Town Samp Army in Harare on Sunday, September 29. The Cape Town opener remained unbeaten on 62 off just 28 deliveries.
With Cape Town required to chase a 130-run target in 10 overs, the onus was on Malan to fire with the bat. The English batter delivered in the all-important summit clash.
Right-arm pacer Tinashe Muchawaya faced the wrath of Malan's form, as he ended up leaking 27 runs in the third over of the run chase. He started off the over with a wide and a dot ball.
The southpaw took Muchawaya to the cleaners in the remaining five deliveries, striking three sixes and two fours. You can watch the video of Malan's onslaught below:
Dawid Malan looked in fine form throughout the Zim Afro T10 2024. The 37-year-old finished as the second-highest run-getter of the edition, amassing 252 runs across 10 outings.

Dawid Malan struck seven fours and three sixes during his unbeaten 63-run knock in the Zim Afro T20 2024 final. However, it wasn't enough as his side ultimately suffered a five-run loss, finishing at 124/2 after 10 overs.
After being asked to bat first, Joburg Bangla Tigers registered 129/5 in 10 overs. Opener Mohammad Shahzad was the top performer with his side, scoring 44 runs off just 25 deliveries.
Kusal Perera chipped in with a quick-fire 33-run knock at the top of the order. Nicholson Gordon claimed two wickets for Cape Town, while Amir Hamza and Qais Ahmad bagged one scalp each.
Despite a tough fight from Malan, the Joburg-based side ended up as the champions. Adam Milne was the pick of the bowlers for Joburg, recording figures of 2-0-18-2.
