[Watch] Deepti Sharma dismisses Marizanne Kapp to get her third wicket against Oval Invincibles

The London Spirit's all-rounder, Deepti Sharma, was on fire as she turned the game's momentum against the Oval Invincibles by dismissing Marizanne Kapp on the 92nd delivery. The 15th match of The Hundred Women’s Competition pitted Oval Invincibles against London Spirit on Sunday, August 4, at Lord’s, London.

Deepti came to bowl when Oval needed six off the last 10 deliveries with four wickets in hand. Kapp took a double on the 91st ball to cut the deficit to four runs.

Deepti turned the tide of the match on the 92nd ball when she removed Kapp. The off-spinner bowled a flat and quick delivery. Kapp was cramped for room as the ball hit her pads and deflected onto the stumps. The right-handed batter scored 47 off 32 balls, hitting six boundaries and one maximum.

Deepti then bowled three consecutive dots to finish her spell. The Indian all-rounder took three wickets and conceded 18 runs in 20 deliveries.

Danielle Gibson bowled the next five deliveries, and a run-out on the last ball of the game helped London Spirit tie the game from a losing position.


Deepti Sharma shines for the London Spirit in the first innings

After being asked to bat first, the London Spirit Women didn’t start well, as they lost half of their side for 47 runs in 50 balls. Marizanne Kapp was on fire for the Oval Invincibles; she took four wickets in 20 balls, conceding only 11 runs.

Deepti Sharma came to the rescue for London Spirit. She, along with Eva Gray, stitched a 37-run partnership for the seventh wicket. The all-rounder scored 44 off 34 balls, smashing six boundaries, as the London Spirit finished at 113/9 in 100 balls.

In response, it was looking like Marizanne Kapp would take her team over the line. However, Deepti Sharma and Danielle Gibson were outstanding for the London Spirit in the last 10 balls, as the match ended in a tie.
