[Watch] Deepti Sharma smashes Annabel Sutherland for a maximum during Northern Superchargers vs London Spirit match in The Hundred Women’s 2024
London Spirit Women’s player Deepti Sharma hit Northern Superchargers Women’s pacer Annabel Sutherland for a maximum in the 29th match of The Hundred Women’s Competition 2024 on Tuesday, August 13, at Headingley, Leeds.
The Indian all-rounder showed her power on the 52nd ball. Sutherland bowled a length bowl, giving plenty of width on offer, and the left-handed batter didn’t miss out on it. Deepti slashed it hard, and the ball sailed into the stand over the deep mid-wicket area.

Chasing a target of 100, the London Spirit lost three wickets for 28 runs after 25 balls. Deepti came to bat at No. 5 and played a brilliant inning. Deepti, along with captain Heather Knight, stitched together an unbeaten 77-run stand for the fourth wicket in 62 balls as London Spirit won the game by seven wickets with 14 balls remaining.
The left-handed batter remained unbeaten on 37 off 31 balls, hitting three fours and one maximum. On the other hand, Knight scored 43* off 35 balls, smashing six boundaries and one six.
Eva Gray shines with the ball for London Spirit
The Northern Superchargers Women won the toss and chose to bat first. Tara Norris gave five wides to start the proceeding but hit the bullseye on the first delivery as she dismissed Marie Kelly for a golden duck.
Captain Hollie Armitage was dismissed for five by Eva Gray. Soon after, Phoebe Litchfield's (one off eight balls) struggle came to an end as she was bowled by Danielle Gibson.
Annabel Sutherland (24 off 17 balls) and Alice Davidson Richards (33 off 39 balls) put up a fight for the Northern Superchargers. Georgia Wareham scored 18 as the Superchargers finished at 99/7 in 100 balls. Eva Gray was the pick of the bowlers for the London Spirit, taking three wickets.
In response, it turned out to be an easy chase, with Heather Knight and Deepti Sharma leading the way for the London Spirit.
