Deepti Sharma's cameo helps London Spirit Women post a competitive total
Deepti Sharma's cameo came at a crucial time for the London Spirit Women as their innings needed impetus at the backend. Meg Lanning (31 off 20) got the Spirit off to a quick start but was castled by Fran Davies. After that, the Spirit kept losing wickets at regular intervals before Deepti Walked out to bat.
From 61/4, Deepti and Danielle Gibson resurrected Spirit's innings and kept chipping away with boundaries and sixes. Gibson was dismissed for 41 off 25 balls, while the Indian batter remained unbeaten on 39*. Her innings helped the Spirit post a competitive total of 150/5 in their 20 sets.
Welsh Fire Women in reply have lost their openers Sophia Dunkley and Tammy Beaumont relatively early in their innings. Hayley Matthews and Sarah Bryce have got together in the middle and have consolidated their innings. However, they still need a move on as the required run rate has been creeping up with every passing delivery.
The Fire have already lost a game this season and will need to up the ante to ensure they aren't sitting with two losses from three games at the end of the innings.
