[Watch] Dinesh Karthik turns commentator while watching highlights of his blistering 83 (35) in RCB vs SRH IPL 2024 clash
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik recently commentated while watching highlights of his own knock in the IPL 2024 match against the SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH).
Karthik put in a special performance in that game, helping RCB score the highest second innings total in IPL history. The M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru hosted the contest on April 15. SRH batted first and notched up the highest-ever total in IPL, 287/3 in 20 overs.
RCB then lost half their side with 122 on the board in 10 overs during the chase. After that, Dinesh Karthik smashed the SRH bowlers to all parts of the ground en route to 83 (35). He hit seven sixes and five fours during the inning to give a massive scare to the Hyderabad side before eventually departing in the penultimate over of the match. Due to his magnificent performance, RCB managed to reach 262/7 and lost by a small margin of 25 runs in such a massive chase.
IPL's official handle shared a video today to give fans a glimpse of Dinesh Karthik watching his batting performance against SRH and doing commentary. They captioned the video:

"I'll do everything I can to be on that flight to the World Cup" - Dinesh Karthik
Dinesh Karthik recently threw his hat in for the selection of the wicketkeeper-batter role in the Indian squad for the upcoming 2024 T20 World Cup. He last represented India at the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia and has not featured in the squads after that. He is again back in the reckoning after impressive performances for RCB in the ongoing IPL season.
"At this stage in my life, it would be the greatest feeling for me to represent India [at the T20 World Cup]. I'm very, very keen to do so. There is nothing bigger in my life other than representing India in this T20 World Cup," Karthik said on Saturday (April 20) on the eve of RCB's clash against Kolkata Knight Riders.
He continued:
"I also feel there are three very, very stable, honest people who are at their helm to decide what should be the best Indian team for the World Cup. Rahul Dravid, Rohit Sharma, and Ajit Agarkar. And I'm completely with them. I respect any decision that they take. But all I can say is I'm 100% ready. And you know I'll do everything I can to be on that flight to the World Cu"
RCB will square off against KKR this afternoon at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
