[Watch] Extra bounce from Ravindra Jadeja has Litton Das nicking to Rishabh Pant on Day 5 of IND vs BAN 2024 2nd Test

Team India left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja struck for the second time in the opening session on Day 5 of the second Test against Bangladesh at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur. Litton Das nicked one behind the stumps, with Rishabh Pant taking a smart catch.

The dismissal occurred in the 30th over of the innings as the Saurashtra all-rounder came on to bowl his second of the day. The ball went away from Litton and generated extra bounce as the right-hander prodded at it, but could only nick it behind, having to walk back for a single.

Litton, who had a productive tour of Pakistan, has failed to make a notable score in this series. Across four innings, the 29-year-old's highest score has been just 22. Jadeja, meanwhile, had earlier got rid of Bangladesh skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto and dismissed Shakib Al Hasan after pouching Litton.

Meanwhile, the veteran all-rounder became the seventh Indian bowler to reach 300 Test wickets and the third left-arm spinner to get to the landmark. He did so by dismissing Khaled Ahmed as Bangladesh were skittled out for 233 in their first innings in Kanpur, with Mominul Haque starring with a century for the tourists.

Indian openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma blazed away at the start of India's innings as they reached 50 runs in a record-breaking three overs. Sharma and Co. also smashed the record for the fastest 100, 150, 200, and 250, and eventually declared at 285/9. Jaiswal and KL Rahul smacked quick-fire half-centuries, with the former top-scoring with 72 off 51 deliveries.

Team India lead the series 1-0 as they defeated Bangladesh by 280 runs at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. As things stand, the hosts need 95 to seal the series 2-0.
