[Watch] Faf du Plessis distraught as RCB captain gets run-out at non-striker's end against CSK in IPL 2024

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) skipper Faf du Plessis was in disbelief after being adjudged run out at the non-striker's end in the IPL 2024. It came against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Saturday, May 18. Du Plessis departed for 54 off 39 balls.

Rajat Patidar drilled a delivery straight back at left-arm spinner Mitchell Santner. The bowler felt he got a finger on the ball as it hit the stumps at the non-striker's end. Ultra Edge showed that Santner did touch the ball on the way to the stumps. The third umpire took a look at the non-striker's end and concluded that Du Plessis had his bat in the air when the bails were dislodged.

Faf du Plessis was surprised when he was adjudged out as he felt he had some part of his bat grounded. Here's a video of the dismissal:

The RCB dressing room wasn't a happy place either after Du Plessis was adjudged out and Virat Kohli made his disappointment visible as well.

Rajat Patidar & Cameron Green consolidated after Faf du Plessis' dismissal

The Royal Challengers lost Virat Kohli's wicket for 47. Just when it looked like Rajat Patidar and Faf du Plessis would shift gears, the hosts lost their captain as well. However, Cameron Green walked out at No. 4 and hit the ground running, helping Patidar to also up the ante from the other end.

The duo added 71 runs in just 28 balls for the third wicket and that played a crucial role in taking RCB across the 200-run mark. Maxwell's handy 16*(5) helped RCB post a mammoth target of 219 for the Men in Yellow.

However, Chennai have to score 201 to ensure that even if they lose the game, they have a net run rate superior to that of RCB to qualify for the playoffs.
