[Watch] Faf du Plessis pulls off spectacular one-handed catch in Abu Dhabi T10 League 2024

South African cricketer Faf du Plessis pulled off a spectacular catch to dismiss Shadab Khan in the Qualifier 2 match between Delhi Bulls and Morrisville Samp Army in the Abu Dhabi T10 League 2024. The match was held on Monday, December 2, at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in the UAE.

The moment of brilliance came on the fourth ball of the second over of the Delhi Bulls' innings. Amir Hamza bowled a slightly short delivery just outside off, and Shadab Khan hit it in the air. Faf, stationed at extra cover, stretched fully and took a stunning one-handed catch, resembling a football goalkeeper in full flight. Shadab was dismissed for a two-ball duck.

Morrisville Samp Army won the toss and chose to bowl first. Delhi Bulls got off to a rough start, losing their top three batters—Tom Banton (9), James Vince (8), and Shadab Khan (0)—early on.

Captain Rovman Powell (13) and Tim David (24) then added 34 runs for the fourth wicket off 22 balls. Towards the end, Nikhil Chaudhary contributed 16 off 8 balls, helping the Bulls finish at 89 for seven in their allotted 20 overs.

Isuru Udana was the standout bowler for Samp Army, taking three wickets, while Amir Hamza claimed two.

In reply, Samp Army lost their openers Faf du Plessis (1) and Charith Asalanka (8) early. Captain Rohan Mustafa was dismissed for just three. However, Andries Gous played a solid innings, scoring 38 off 23 balls, with five boundaries and one six.

Towards the end, Jack Taylor played a match-winning knock, remaining unbeaten on 23 off 11 balls, including three sixes, steering Morrisville Samp Army to victory with five balls to spare.
