Indian cricketer Shreyas Iyer shared a video on social media undergoing batting practice in the indoor nets on Tuesday, November 5. The Mumbai cricketer was unavailable for the Round 3 game of the 2024-25 Ranji Trophy against Tripura, which ended in a draw.
The 29-year-old will return to action in the Round 4 match against Odisha, starting Wednesday, November 6, at the Sharad Pawar Cricket Academy in BKC, Mumbai.
On Tuesday, the right-handed batter posted a video on Instagram, showing himself putting in the hard work during his batting practice in the indoor nets. He captioned the post:
“Fire burnin.”
Shreyas produced an exceptional performance in the Round 2 match against Maharashtra. He notched up his first century of the season and his 14th in first-class cricket. He made 142 runs off 190 balls, smashing 12 boundaries and four sixes. Mumbai secured a dominant nine-wicket victory in the game.

The Mumbai cricketer made his India debut in 2017 during a T20I match against New Zealand. Since then, Shreyas Iyer has played 51 games, accumulating 1,104 runs, including eight fifties.
The 29-year-old's most recent appearance for India came in an away ODI series against Sri Lanka. He had a challenging series, managing just 38 runs in three matches. Sri Lanka won the series 2-0, with one game ending in a tie.
Overall, Iyer has featured in 62 ODIs, scoring 2,421 runs at an average of 47.47, including 18 fifties and five centuries. He was the third-highest run-scorer for India in the 2023 ODI World Cup, where the Men in Blue finished as runners-up. He accumulated 530 runs in 11 innings, including three fifties and two centuries.
Additionally, the middle-order batter has featured in 14 Tests for India, scoring 811 runs at an average of 36.86, with five fifties and one century to his name.
