Team India skipper Rohit Sharma was fired up as Hardik Pandya made the first breakthrough in the T20 World Cup 2024 Super 8 match against Bangladesh in Antigua. In a video that surfaced on social media, the 37-year-old was caught saying a few cuss words immediately after Suryakumar Yadav pulled off a sensational catch.

The dismissal of Bangladesh opener Litton Das occurred in the fourth over of the innings in the clash on Saturday, June 22. The right-hander dispatched a slightly short-pitched delivery from Pandya over the mid-wicket fence. The 30-year-old all-rounder made a sensational comeback by slowing it down and Das played the same shot. However, he holed out to the mid-wicket fielder as Suryakumar Yadav ran in to take a sensational catch.

In the process, the Tigers lost momentum after making a promising start to a steep chase of 197 to stay alive in the multi-nation tournament.

As far as his performance with the bat goes, Rohit hasn't made a significant score in the competition since the half-century in the opening fixture against Ireland. The Nagpur-born batter made a sensational start to his innings on Saturday before perishing for 23 off 11 deliveries. His innings comprised three fours and a maximum, which traveled 97 meters off Shakib Al Hasan.

Virat Kohli also made his highest score of the tournament with 37 off 28 deliveries, while Rishabh Pant gave the Men in Blue the momentum with a 24-ball 36. Hardik Pandya emerged as the standout batter, hitting an unbeaten 50 off 27 balls. The all-rounder also shared a 53-run stand with Shivam Dube, who struck three maximums in his cameo of 34.

India eventually beat Bangladesh comfortably as Kuldeep Yadav emerged as the pick of the bowlers with figures of 4-0-19-3. Arshdeep Singh and Jasprit Bumrah finished with two each, while Pandya snared one.
